Michael R. Meaux
Born, raised, and a lifelong resident of Colorado, Mr. Meaux is a 4th generation Coloradoan. Michael has interned for the Colorado Public Defender Trial Office, and worked for the Student Law Office at the University of Denver.
Since receiving his license to practice, Mr. Meaux has had numerous victories in criminal cases, from outright dismissals to successful acquittals after trial. In his most difficult case to date, Mr. Meaux’s client was found not guilty of sexual assault after a week long trial and approximately 30 minutes of jury deliberations.
For the better part of three decades, Mr. Meaux has been strongly active in the Colorado Chapter for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Having booth his mother and wife afflicted with MS, a disease that affects 10% of the Colorado population, Mr. Meaux is committed to aiding the Colorado MS community in legal matters and in the ultimate discovery of a cure.
Additionally, Michael continues to be a regular donor and advocate for the Denver Dumb Friends League. Mr. Meaux has a diverse array of professional interests, especially the increasing role of technology in the law. Michael's personal interests include everything from photography, music, to philosophy. However, he notes golf as currently being his primary source of personnel obsession.
In addition to representing parties in family law cases concerning child custody, support and divorce, Mr. Meaux is a certified Child and Family Investigator (CFI), available for appointment in contested custody actions in Colorado. A CFI is an investigative arm of the Court in which he is appointed, and seeks to determine through investigation the best interests of the minor children. A CFI will then issue a report and recommendations for the Court to consider in rulings concerning child custody.
